Ethiopia 2005
It is well known that many African nations have forged through history burdened by huge challenges. Heavy odds are stacked against them. Ethiopia is a country saddled with a number of the mega issues which include famine, severe drought, resource depletion, and a prevalence of curable blindness. Among many other organizations, Mercy Corps and Orbis International have implemented programs to comprehensively address these vulnerabilities. I recently traveled through the Horn of Africa to document the work of these NGOs. To make images that will now be utilized to foster awareness of these issues and bring others in touch with the common thread of our humanity. Proceeds from prints purchased in this catalogue go directly to supporting my social documentary endeavors in humanitarian photojournalism.
