Uganda 2005
As a country which suffered dramatically under the brutal regimes of Idi Amin and Milton Obote during the 1980's, Uganda has been on a slow road to recovery. In recent years, an unprecedented number of children have been orphaned due to the AIDS pandemic. Extreme poverty only adds further complexity to the plight of Uganda. In the last few months, I photographed the work of Association Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (AFXB) in the northwest province of Luweero. The images will serve to promote the mission of AFXB and bolster support for their "6 Villages: 1 Fight Against AIDS" campaign. Proceeds from prints purchased in this catalogue go directly to supporting my endeavors in humanitarian photojournalism and further work documenting the programs of AFXB.
